The University of Warwick Science Park has been ranked among the best places for start-ups to grow in Europe for a second year in a row.
The Science Park was named in the FT’s ‘Europe’s Leading Start-Up Hubs’ rankings for 2025, a year after making its first appearance on the list in 2024.
It is the only UK-based science park to appear on the list, which ranks the top 150 companies for accelerator and incubator programmes in Europe.
Firms are scored through direct feedback from start-ups, as well as how well start-ups do after working in or interacting with a particular hub.
Using the FT’s scoring system, the Science Park scored 74 – nine more points than last year – showing its improvement and putting it at number 123 in the list.
A celebratory event was held at the Venture Centre to mark the Science Park making the ranking.
Mark Tock, Chief Operations Officer at the University of Warwick Science Park, said: “Being included again in this report is fantastic news, and underlines the incredible support we give to start-ups.
“The competition has become a lot stronger in 2025, as this year’s score would have seen us place 58th in last year’s ranking. If we had scored the same as last year, we wouldn’t have been listed this year at all.
“This achievement highlights the significant impact of our Ignite, Business Ready, Minerva Business Angels, and Innovation Centre teams, who continue to connect businesses with the University of Warwick’s innovation ecosystem.
“We are confident that we can continue to improve what we can offer to start-ups, and we are hopeful that we can make it three-in-a-row by appearing in the rankings next year.”
Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of Warwick, added: “The University of Warwick Science Park plays an integral role in growing innovative companies, with the extensive business support and the excellent facilities it provides.
“The FT rankings demonstrate how the Science Park is creating opportunities for start-ups to grow. In turn this is contributing to inclusive economic growth regionally, nationally and internationally. It is a great achievement to appear on the list two years in a row.”
